I’m a single mom, Wisconsin-raised, and the daughter of a dad with an unwavering work ethic who taught me to be resourceful and figure things out. Somewhere along the way, I adopted the mindset, “when you must, you will”—and it’s carried me through just about every chapter of my life. Including motherhood and my tendency to take on overly ambitious DIY projects that occasionally require a second set of hands… and an SOS call to the ol’ Papa, as my son calls him.
My career started in fashion after earning my degree in Apparel Design & Development, where I designed both menswear and womenswear. From there, my career evolved into interior design, decorating, and eventually, all things seasonal. I’ve always had a slightly obsessive eye for aesthetics, so I guess you could say design is a pretty big part of who I am.
I’ve always joked that hosting is my love language, with cooking as the supporting evidence. Holiday decorating has always been my favorite excuse to make a home feel a little more special—and nostalgically cozy. I love curating spaces that feel lived-in, cozy, and a little luxurious, creating traditions with my son, cooking for friends and family, and, of course, playing the right music to set the mood. Usually, Stevie Nicks gets the job done.
My son and I are lucky to call Erie, Colorado home, and we’ve loved becoming part of this community. The Punkin Porch is a pretty perfect intersection of everything I love, design, decorating, hospitality, and creating spaces that make people want to linger a little longer.
How it started:
Working years in the design industries as both an interior and previously fashion designer with a family to raise, home life brought me to realize what matters most, where I came to realize my passion for design needed to take a pause. Balancing home and work life I found myself gravitating towards projects and hosting friends that created an outlet to use my design and creativity in other ways. I’ll admit the designing and creative problem solving never really took a ‘pause’. I found myself mostly looking forward to decorating our home for the fall and holiday season, to build nostalgic traditions for my son and I to enjoy together, year after year.
Fast forward, ‘The Punkin Porch’ was founded and in our first year people would ask “do you also do Christmas,” I said 'no,’ joking that I’d never do two holidays back to back. Weeks later…with what started as a porch pumpkin styling business turned seasonal styling adding Christmas services to my portfolio with live greenery and floral entryway arches.
I can't wait to be a small part of your family's traditions by helping to create that ‘welcome effect’ to your entryway, season after season. My hope is that every porch brings lasting memories for your families to look forward to, adding our services to your traditions year after year.
